The calls for the restructuring of Nigeria’s Political, Economic and Social Firmaments will further reverberate on Thursday 13th December 2018 in Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria as eminent Yoruba Leaders pay a visit to the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa to seek for his support.
Obasa is also the current Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assemblies of Nigeria.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos, the Convener of Yoruba Koya Leadership and Training Foundation, Otunba ‘Deji Osibogun whose organization is spare-heading the visit, said eminent Yoruba Leaders such as Second Republic Senator and Emeritus Professor of History, Banji Akintoye, Afenifere Chieftain, Amos Akingba, Secretary-General, Yoruba Council of Elders, Dr. Kunle Olajide, Senator Tokunbo Ogunbanjo, Dr. Tola Adeniyi, Chairman, Voice of Reason, Dr. Femi Adegoke amongst others will lead the delegation of well-meaning Yoruba Sons and Daughters on the visit to the Lagos Parliament.
According to Osibogun, the core objective of the visit is to let all elected Yoruba parliamentarians understand why the restructuring of Nigeria’s political, economic and social structures must be Implemented Now for the sake of the generation yet unborn.
He also said the visitation, which is being taking to all the parliaments in Yoruba Land, is aimed at formally seeking for the support of Obasa and other members of Lagos State House of Assembly on the constitutional request to restructure Nigeria so as to address injustice, inequality and unemployment threatening the peace of the nation.
According to the statement, a paper titled “Yoruba Nation in a Restructured Nigeria Federation” written by Yoruba Koya Leadership and Training Foundation, September 2017 Ibadan Declaration on Restructuring by Yoruba People and draft of Proposed Nigerian Constitution written by Voice of Reason (VOR) will be presented to Obasa during the visit.
Others expected to join the visit are Governorship Candidate of Alliance for Democracy in 2015 in Lagos State, Mr. Bolaji Ogunseye, Renowned Lawyer, Otunba Alaba Shonibare, Activists, Tokunbo Ekukanim, Dr. Akin Fapohunda, Dr. Ladi Awosika, Secretary, Voice of Reason, Otunba Yomi Alao, United States based Architect, Otunba Tilewa Osifeso, Internationally Recognized Medical Doctor, John Mabayoje, University Don, Tunde Fatunde, Chief Kunle Osuntokun, Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Tunji Alapini among others.
